Before calling us, you might be able to fix this problem yourself with a little troubleshooting. If you can access your dishwasher’s plug, unplug it then plug it back in. You should also check to see whether or not the breaker has been tripped.
You may also have gunk in the latch – your dishwasher won’t start unless it’s locked tightly. You can also try resetting your dishwasher if there’s a reset button, or manually turning it all the way off and on again, as it may be stuck in a hung cycle.
If these solutions don’t fix the problem, call Napoleon Appliances! It’s probably a problem with one of the internal components.
A vibrating dishwasher is rarely cause for alarm. Turn off your dishwasher and check to see if any objects have fallen onto the floor of the dishwasher. Vibrations can also be caused by large chunks of food in the filtration system (which you can remove with a spoon), or by too many dishes stacked together.
The worst case scenario? Your dishwasher is vibrating because it was installed on an uneven surface. Napoleon Appliances can help with all of these issues.
Are you using dish soap or laundry detergent in your dishwasher? If you are, your dishwasher might be generating a lot of suds, which can leak out.
Otherwise, you should give us a call. Leaky gaskets and pump seals, cracked hoses, faulty float switches, and a whole bunch of other problems with internal components can cause your dishwasher to leak. Our technicians have the parts, tools, and techniques to repair leaking dishwashers.
A little troubleshooting can go a long way here. Try running a vinegar cycle – run your dishwasher, without dishes, after pouring 3 cups of vinegar in the bottom of it.
You may also have a dirty filter – if you have a newer model, you’ll have a removable filter that you can wash out.
Low quality detergent can also lead to spotty dishes.

Your dishwasher should be a dish dryer, too. When your dishes are coming out wet, there are a few things you can try before calling us:
First, make sure you’re loading your dishes properly and not cluttering your dishwasher too much. Second, make sure you unload the bottom rack before the top rack to stop water from dripping down. Third, avoid putting plastic items in the dishwasher. You should also consider activating any drying modes your dishwasher has, such as heated dry, and use a rinse aid, as well.
If none of those tips help, give us a call! There could be a faulty fan motor, a broken heating element, or some other internal component problem. We’ll find the problem and fix it!

Grinding noises, on the other hand, are sometimes caused by hard objects, like popcorn kernels, working their way into your dishwasher’s chopper blade. Unplug your dishwasher (or switch the breaker off), then remove the blade and clean the area.
If that doesn’t do the trick, there’s almost definitely an internal component that’s stressed. It’s likely that one of your pumps is worn down. It could also be one of many other components that could need replacing. Our expert technicians will find and fix the problem.
